約4億5千年前から1億年前までにつくられた金鉱脈から、奈良時代に「みちのく」から砂金として発見されました。

It was discovered as Placer gold from “Michinoku” in the Nara period from a gold vein created from about 450 million years ago to 100 million years ago.

当時の奈良時代は多くの人が飢饉や疫病で苦しんでいた時代でした。

The Nara period at that time was a time when many people were suffering from famine and plague.

時の天皇、聖武天皇は、仏教の力でなんとかこの災いから脱しようとした。そこで天平15年(西暦743年)奈良の大仏造立を発願したと言われています。

Emperor Shomu, the emperor of the time, came up with the idea of escaping from this disaster with the power of Buddhism. So I came up with the idea of building the Great Buddha in Nara in the 15th year of Tenpyo (743 AD).

その奈良の大仏に「みちのく」で算出した”金”が使われた。
